Spotify music catalogue updated with 90,513 releases.

A lot of today’s update independent music from CD Baby, some highlights and new releases include:

• Hands by Little Boots
• Lines, Vines and Trying Times by the Jonas Brothers
• Skeletons by the Tiny Masters Of Today

For a full listing of today’s additions please have a look at the Google documents, there are two of them because of the size of the update, one sorted by artist and one by label. As with every update not all albums listed may be available in your country and some tracks previously available may no longer be playable due to regional restrictions.

Hints & Tips - Your top list.

Ever curious to see what track or artist you’ve recently been listening to the most? Spotify has got a top list feature built-in which shows you what you’re currently digging. You can view your top ten tracks, albums and artists as well as the top hits in various different countries.

To see the top lists head to the Home page, then click on the Top lists tab. There you will see drop down menus where you can select various different views.

Spotify 0.3.16

The developers at Spotify Ltd. just released version 0.3.16 of their app, making sharing your music with others even easier than before. Right-click any artist, track or album in Spotify to share it on Facebook or Delicious. As usual they have also squashed a few bugs and the banner ads no longer steal your focus.

Hints & Tips - Link to a specific track time.

Here’s a little feature that you may not know about. You can link directly to a specific time in a track by adding, for example “#1:31″ to the end of the URI of a Spotify track, where 1:31 is the time you want to link to.

Here’s a full example, spotify:track:2QO8cnnFW6khDuAuUAySeV#3:04 will link to what I think is the best part of this song.

So if you’ve ever wanted to send your friend a track so he could hear only the great guitar riff or fabulous chorus, now you can.

This feature also works with HTTP links if you use “%23″ in place of the “#” symbol. So my example would look like this: http://open.spotify.com/track/2QO8cnnFW6khDuAuUAySeV%233:04.
